Manitoba Health and First Nations and Inuit Health provide funding for evaluation project of ASIST
Manitoba Health and First Nations and Inuit Health have partnered together to fund an important research project which will be led by the Swampy Cree Suicide Prevention Team at the University of Manitoba with a partnership from the SCTC communities.
This project hopes to provide more information about whether ASIST works in your communities. There are no research studies that have proven that ASIST helps people in your community to know when someone is suicidal, and to help them to get to the care they need. In addition, we are concerned that ASIST may make some people feel suicidal.
To do this study, we will be approaching individuals who are scheduled to take part in ASIST workshops in your communities to see if they would like to participate in the study over the coming months.
If you would like to participate, or you are aware of a scheduled ASIST workshop in your community, please contact Ron Cook at 204-627-1500 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
